Welcome friends, old and new, known and unknown! It has been my desire to share with you how the Lord is working in my life as I serve the Lord on the mission field of Kabwe, Zambia. There is an old black and white movie called The African Queen. It is about a boat that travels down river. This blog is not about a boat. It is however, about my travels on the mission field of Kabwe, Zambia. By the way, did you know that my name means queen. For many years I have been burdened for souls in Africa. That is why some of my friends call me African Queen.
Furlough is a time when missionaries come home from the mission field to report to their supporting churches, gather more needed support, visit with family and friends, and the opportunity to serve in various ministries at their sending church and other churches. During furlough, a missionary is pulled in many directions of service. It is not always an easy task to go from one place to the other, saying quick "hellos" and quick "goodbyes". The people a missionary invests in on furlough are lives they may get to impact for Christ for just an hour, day, or week. The eternal rewards of the Ministry of Furlough will many times only be known when we get to Heaven. The Lord uses the ministries a missionary is a part of during furlough to strengthen their spiritual walk and to teach them things that will help their ministry on the mission field. Pray for your missionaries on furlough. Their heart's desire is to be on the mission field where God has placed them.
