WELCOME !

Welcome friends, old and new, known and unknown! It has been my desire to share with you how the Lord is working in my life as I serve the Lord on the mission field of Kabwe, Zambia. There is an old black and white movie called The African Queen. It is about a boat that travels down river. This blog is not about a boat. It is however, about my travels on the mission field of Kabwe, Zambia. By the way, did you know that my name means queen. For many years I have been burdened for souls in Africa. That is why some of my friends call me African Queen.

WY #8 Friday VBS

The children's song goes - "God is so good, God is so good, God is so good, He's so good to me". God is good!!!! Tonight was our last night of VBS. Most of the children came back again and this time brought thier parents. Some of the parents followed the children through thier evening activities, while others stayed in the auditorium to listen to each of the Bible lessons.

We were all blessed to have one last night with the kids.

Michele was able to lead a little boy to the Lord!

During the closing part of the night, each class went up to share verses and songs about what they learned.

The best part of the night was to see the face of the little girl when she won the prize for bringing the most visitors.

WY #7 Thursday VBS

Today our group went shopping with some of the church ladies and then out to lunch with a family from the church. We had a great time of fellowship!

After lunch we walked through a pioneer museum

In the evening, during VBS closing time a little boy went up to Anna and asked, "Miss Anna, could I get a Bible?" She came and asked me if I knew if he could get a Bible. I found this as a great opportunity and pulled Warren aside to talk to this little boy. The boy was one that I was praying for during the week. Warren spoke to him until it was time to leave and then got him a Bible. I think he got assurance of his salvation.
Praise the Lord!

WY #6 Wednesday VBS

Today was a very busy day.
In the morning we did our daily cleaning, had devotions, and then went with some ladies to a thrift store - HOORAY! It was a great thrift store because everything was half-off (25 cents - $2.00).
Before lunch the sewing continued.

In the afternoon we went site-seeing to Ayers Natural Bridge for hiking and wading in the creek.

During VBS our class did crafts and listened to Anna tell the missionary story.

VBS this evening was an extra special blessing. Three girls in my class received Christ as thier Savior! Two of the girls were dealt with by ladies in the church and the other was led to the Lord by Diana Wilbur.

After VBS, I had the priviledge of teaching a ladies' class on modesty. We had about 12 ladies and girls in attendance.
During that time the other people from our team played music and sang with the pastor's family and others from the church.

Thank you Lord, for ministering to us today through others and your creation. Thank you also for allowing us to use our God-given abilities to glorify You!

WY #5 Tuesday VBS

Today we spent the morning in what would become our daily routine.
There were many cleaning jobs to do and everyone easily pitched in to help get the church and other building prepared and cleaned for the day.
The sewing room fills with laughing ladies. Some are very experienced sewers, and others are new sewers.
In the afternoon we invited the pastor's wife and some of the ladies for a tea party.
After fun it was time for VBS.
After VBS it has been our blessing to play games with some of the young people at church.

WY Day #4 Monday VBS

Our day started with a group Bible study & prayer. What excitement filled the air all day long as our team anticipated our first day of VBS.

The tasks ahead of us today were:
~ preparing the buildings for VBS by- cleaning, vacumming & helping the church ladies with last minute decorations & set-up
~ helping ith food prep
~ fellowshipping with the church people

My mom has been a special blessing today. Many of the ladies have never worn or made cullottes. So they had a sewing party. As I was studying my lesson downstairs, I could hear the laughter from upstairs. The Lord has truly used my mom already in the lives of these ladies.

Here are some pictures of VBS.
We had 27 kids, 3 age groups, and we served in many ways to help and teach.
Cathy and I playing games with the kids.

My mom and other ladies helped thier class with the crafts.

Anna & I taught 4-6th graders.

Please continue to pray for more children to come, for each helper & worker, and for kids, parents, and grandparents to be saved and added to the church.

WY Day #3

Sunday service, always a blessing!
Today, our team had the priviledge of being a part of the church service here in Glenrock, WY.

Pastor Potter taught an excellant Sunday School message on Knowing the Will of God. After seeking the Lord's will concerning major decisions, including South Africa; I was able to share testimony of how God's way of finding and obeying His will truly brings joy & peace.

Our team was able to sing together as a chior. We also played or sang other special music during Sunday's services.

In the afternoon we all piled onto the bus with many of the other church members and drove around the community handing out popcicles and VBS fliers.
Serving the Lord should always be this fun! Some of the younger girls and I had a great time of fellowship inviting kids to VBS!

After over 10 hrs and up to 16 people cutting at one time, we finally finished cutting out the flannelgraph - HURRAY!!!

WY Day #2

Today, our morning started with a delicious breakfast made entirely by a man from the church.
After delicious food and fellowship we headed out into the community to hand out VBS & church fliers. Our group paired up and went door-to-door with each other and some of the church people.
After our visitation we headed over to a local park and had a picnic.
The pastor's family also brought over thier horses for us to ride. What a treat!
On the way back from the picnic we took a lady from church with us to get fabric to make a pair of culottes. Thank the Lord for my mom - the great seamstress!
In the evening we continued to cut out Betty Lukens flannel graph which will be used for VBS and be a gift for the pastor's family.
